Why No JJOS???

I always wondered why no JJOS for the 2000/xl.... the answer maybe already here but I don't feel like looking...hahahahaha

cuz the 2000 is wack. JJ didnt wanna waste his time with the hyundai's of the MPC world.









































Na honestly I dont know homie but Im sure my response will ruffle a few feathers. BTW I would think out of all the MPC's the 2000/xl would be capable of this.

Truth........

JJ OS was created by someone that worked for akai in the development of the original OS for the 1k and the 2500,
he already had the source code for the OS cause he worked on it, and then used it to make a better one and make a few bucks haha


To someone make an alternative OS for the 2000, 2000XL, 5000 etc... they whould have to have the source code and now how to program to the machine. That will problably never happen unless akai releases the source code, or if some hacks into the akai computers and steals it, that whould be even better!! hahaha

why cant they reverse-engineer the source code? has anyone with programming skills tried?

No, because reverse engineering doesn't work like that.

reverse engineering an os for a especific machine whould take A LOT a of time and pacience...

Because, the 2000XL is a great machine, great OS. I see no need for any changes. I love my 2000XL!

Press "track mute" then go back to the main screen to turn off... can't turn it on while playing though

no jjos for real akai machines, because they don't need shit like that.

I think you can..try the button above the slider.

I don't have the XL anymore, but it would be nice to resample (and no, I'm not talking about the slow resampling option). The processor is too slow for Normalizing. I've always wondered if there was a way to physically mod the XL so it could recognize it's own pad sounds when in the sample screen.

You got the 2500 now right??...did you put the jjos in that??...i think mines have akai os 1.23....

I like it like that.....for now....want to weigh my options to what I like and what I don't like before I go JJ

havent turned the XL on since that same day I opened the 2500 box.....it's kinda sad.....think I will customize the xl now....hahahahahahaa
