Making drums samples work in MPC

Whats up everyone been a min since I've been up here but I recently found a problem. I just got A LOT of DOPE sounding drums from a friend, only problem is I put them onto my mpc and they won't play. I went back and looked at the BIT of the drums and they're 24 bit, which is why Im guessing that they dont work. My question is, Is there anyway to convert them all into "MPC format" because like i said there are a lot of sounds and I would hate to do them one by one. Thanks for your help everyone peace!

Audacity. It's for free and very easy to use. Just open the sounds in Audacity and export them as a wav file 16bit 44.1khz

Yea I heard that but I've got over a thousand sounds, I can't do each sound one by one hahahaha. I was wondering if there was a way to convert them all at once instead of converting them one by one. Would putting them in a ZIP folder work perhaps?

Not with Audacity.
This would be the only method I can think of, converting each sound individually.

I'm pretty sure you can load up all your sampled in Audacity, and "Export Multiple" or something like that. Just don't press "Play", because all your sound will play all at once

For windows I'd recommend dbpoweramp. You can select all files and convert them using right click context menu.

I'm still pushin Sony Sound Forge.. it's got heavy-duty BULK save/edit operations

'Adobe Audition' and the older version 'Cool Edit Pro' can do this easily with the 'Batch Processing' option in the file menu.

1. Choose Batch Processing.
2. Add all your files.
3. Click 'Resample' tab and change to 16 bit.
4. Click 'Destination' tab and choose a folder to save to, or you can overwrite.
5. Click 'Run Batch'.
Done.

I use wavosaur. It has a batch convert feature in the tools section that can convert your current waves into simple 16bit waves in bulk.\ just like Jimmie just described above.

Do a search on Download.com for "wav converter". There are a bunch of free ones as well as some that you can try for a evaluation period, but still get the job done. Also, Nero does this as well, if you're on a PC, and Nero will come in handy a lot later on as well.

I do this in Pro Tools. Just drag all the files into your regions list pane. Select all and export regions as files. Select resolution and output path. Easy. Takes less than 2 minutes. Or you can use a program called Cheetah Audio convertor. Does 16/44K by default and does batch conversion.

What about sampling into your mp the ones you want to use? Couple of kiks, snares, hats etc.
Might just be me but I always sample into my mp cos I want the sound of the mp. 2c.
