ASR-X ROll Call

Love the usb and harddrive. Scsi and zip, I just want to be done with that stuff.

I really just want a stable solid machine that isn't going to be flaky, that sounds good and is fun to work with

Is that too much to ask?

I say get the 2500 with JJOS. This has all what you ask for.

the ASR-X will make a good team with the 2500 or the 2000xl tho. All great machines.

Prefuse 73 uses mpc's and that is a long way from verse/chorus.

good advice, yeah, i'll keep that in mind. i have been interested in the asr-10 for a while though... can anyone on here tell me about it's sequencer? how it differs from the mpc? lots of people say the mpc's sequencer is so much better, but what's the asr-10's sequencer like

I don't use the ASR-10 Sequencer, But I can tell you that it has a unique groove, like the ASR-X/sp/mpc60/mpc3000. Not the same but its own.

If you mastered the 500, the ASR-10 will be no problem for you.

The mpc is also a more midi capable machine when it comes to sequencing.

The ASR cant do midi like the MPC can. Thats the major difference, therefore making it a "better" sequencer.

People love the sound of the ASR and the effects. Aint too many 16bit samplers that can touch it.

cool, thanks. so does it work the same way, you make sequences, and then put them together in something that is like song mode? or is each song one big sequence, or what

Just sold that **** with the quickness.

Had it MIDI'd up to a mv8000 until i realzie I can't trigger any of the MV stock kits because they're laid out in bank one and the asr x can NEVER EVER access the first bank or octave.

lived and breathed with the black box for years from day one.wonderfull sound ect.sequencer is interesting.never could use the scuzzy v well so would leave it on for days.would freeze sometimes tho.also would suddenly play samples 1 octave or more down scale.sounded great!!!!one thing tho,when listening to the sequencer and changing tracks it would glitch 0ccasionally.ruined many live mixes like this.anyone else noticed this?ta

Yeah, definite glitchage when changing tracks, or really doing anything while the seq is running.

Im in the ASR CLUB! asr-88, I was trying to play with it, and it is a beast(no homo). Who wouldve thunk this shit existed in 1992?
Its a beast of a machine, and I am very happy!
