That is possible, but next month it would of been done. Why quit one month away, when you never gave it a chance to sell any units. Hmm...Strange.

I'm trying to think positive like he an akai got on the phone and said "JJ you da MAM, lets make a deal.

Heck... JJ can solve all Akai's software issues and make them more money with his JJ Sequencer.

rofl.
I really despair.
You mean JJ can solve all Akai's software issues and make them more money with his JJOS for mpc's!
If JJ worked on the OS for future mpc's... maaan, that would really step up Nukai's game in such a massive way it's not even funny.

I'm also with you on that...

JJ take the check with a small royalty and run...cause the man with the money will own it anyway...

Man can you imagine and maybe Akai will make this place their official forum and treat their customers better.

Boy am I dreaming "Big"

Hey check this out...I borrowed it from somewhere.....

the DreamPolice wrote:Akai (is not the same company that made the MPC2k BTW) Numark, Alesis, Akai are all owned by the same company owned by Jack O’Donnell.

They hate there users! I actually overheard at a very large trade show in Nashville an Akai rep talking to a SR management type from another company say something to the effect of "We made products for dumbass beat maker wannabes." I have also heard them refer to there customer base a "Losers", "Punks", and DJ's as "Dumb"

Almost every interaction I had with them they talked badly about there customers. Making fun of hip-hop and DJ's along the way.

They also admitted several times that they don't pay much attention to the MPC forums. That explains allot about the 5k issues.

Also they treat there resellers like crap. They lie about ETA's to the point of absurdity. The hip-hop community needs to slowly back away, shed a tear to what was once an amazing company and MOVE ON!

Man Akai are we that bad...

why don't you just email him & ask?

They never E-mail me back... :(

Hey Sooty_G you had good results, when it comes to emailing them. Can you send them an E-Mail to find out whats going on.

To me it looks like sooty _G is a supportive of JJ soft products, and prefers more support on the JJOSXL. I'm just asking him to find out.

He said this way back in March 2009 and it shows his optimism...

only interested in this if it's 100% MPC compatible. meaning that you can edit your MPC sequences realtime while it is connected to the computer. or do a bunch of funky stuff in the JJ sequencer that you can't do in GRID EDIT.

press a key and the JJ sequencer grabs your current sequence from the MPC, and then press a key and the JJ sequencer transmits the sequence back to the MPC and it pops up in GRID EDIT then you can keep working on it there, bumping back and forth as needed. with realtime integration so you could audition your sounds & edits.

if this JJ sequencer had tight MPC integration like that, it would be a nice complement to the hardware... and once he came out with a MAC version i would probably get it.

but just a standalone PC sequencer? forget it.

The jj sequencer was destined for greatness...and I wondered if he got a cease and desist letter from Akai...

I don't see why the JJ sequencer was a good idea. unless it extended the editability of beats done on an MPC, which it didn't seem like it was meant to do anyways.

But (legend has it that) JJ might have been a disgruntled AKAI employee who makes more money on his own project than working for AKAI again.

I just wish the OS was open for any programmer to hack and improve. The possibilities would be amazing and would certainly make the MPC at least as flexible and powerful as software samplers. Since AKAI has apparently made peace with JJ and retracted any impending lawsuits for hacking and improving the proprietary OS, why not make it open-source with full source code with comments available?

I think it was possible to the extent you referenced.

If you want to ask JJ something and get a quick answer just post a question/comment on there YouTube account....I asked JJ abou the sequencers progress...
"Is the MPC version still going to be released in December? I noticed the details got taken off the website"

JJ's response: "The MPC version was stopped.
However, the save function in an MPC format is added to a free version. "

so it looks like it is still in the works, just not a separate MPC version, the current verison can't save in MPC format so at least there is another update on the free version coming hopefully soon
