I just bought a Mo Phatt rack module after hearing it at Guitar Center. I've got it hooked up to the point where I can play the Mo Phatt sounds off the 2000 by hitting the pads. But how do I get the MPC to playback the Mo Phatt sounds in a recorded sequence? Right now, it plays back nothing.

The MPC wont playback the Mo Phatts sounds. MIDI cable dont send audio, it just tells the Phatt what to do. You should get a mixer, put the MPC's assignable outs into the 1st 8 inputs. Then the mophatts output to the 9th channel.

Find out the MIDI channel that the MOPHATT is set to and define that channel in the MPC. Also check your MIDI settings in the MPC, hit open window and hit pads. Make sure your MIDI Track is set to MIDI and NOT DRUM, you will not hear anything. Holla back if you need more help.

Sounds like you're suggesting that I go thru a mixer and track to tape or a DAW, which is cool - I guess I can do that. But I wanted to do all the sequencing in the MPC before I took it into my computer. Isn't there a way to do a beat on the MPC, using the Mo Phatt sounds? I know that MIDI doesnt transmit an audio signal but can't the MPC tell the Mo Phatt which sound to play when I playback a sequence? That's basically what I'm trying to do.

I'll try again tonight doing what you guys suggested and see what happens. Thanks for the help fellas.

I think Deadly Mind was referring to not hearing any sounds from the Mo Phatt, in which case you need to run the audio to a mixer input so you can hear. I believe what you are asking is how to hear it with your MPC sequence. Just make sure your MIDI cables are in the proper ports and all of your settings are correct like mentioned above.
