you must ve looked at a bigger version... i use AF 12 for example... paid 300 euro...

this is the 2 :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ECHO-AUDIOFIRE2-AUD ... 563570aa50

200 bucks... but i just saw it has only ONE midi plug... dunno about your setup if that will be suficient... probably you need midi IN/OUT for sync

so this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Echo-Audiofire4-Por ... 3a55265ae0

AF 4 would be a much better deal... as i am sure you will need IN/OUT Midi

dont forget you get a high quality audio interface aswell at the same time.... these converters are on par with the esoteric Apogee (not the highend models of course)

and you will need the audio in/outs for recording/tracking bouncing whatever

if you add the ASR expander later you can bounce all tracks/sequnences at once into your software

if you later want to track 8 ch. at a time you can simply get another AF 4 and stack them for 8 in/outs

good luck

PS: you will need to have Firewire connection on your computer of course to use AF

nope

unless you want gameboy quality than go through your Computer input  ehm... dont do it

i think AF is a good deal.. they are allready cheap tbh

otherwise you could check for an old MOTU.... almost all interfaces have midi in/out + at least 2 audio in/out

Doesn't have to be all in one but ion gave you a simpler solution, run with it
and stop being easily confused big dog. Sh1ts annoying. lmao.
