POLY/MONO/NOTE OFF

i know about these functions in the program window and what they do, HOWEVER, sometimes when I load a sound...it's stuck on one like "poly' or "note off" and I can't switch it. How can I get around this? I hope that was somewhat clear.

Also, when loading a sound on the mpc2000xl....occasionally i'll load sound that says" not a 16 bit wav file...." is there a way i can make it useable in the mpc. usually...what i do is put the sound in cool edit and convert it. can i do this on the mpc2000xl? i know you can convert from mono to stereo and vice versa, but can you convert a non 16 bit wav file that can't be read to something that can?

sounds like a glitch there . . . id just try to reload the sound.

you got the answer there. cool edit will always let you save as 16bit PCM wav, which is the standard you need. unworking wav files will be either at the wrong bit resolution or have non-PCM header information, but as long as it some sort of wav, use cool edit or whatever

As far as not being able to take it off of "Note Off"... Try going to the Trim screen and seeing if the sound you loaded is being looped... When Loop is on the sound can not be taken off of Note Off cause that's the way a loop works... I did this by accident myself... I edited sounds in CEP... Then when I loaded them in it auotmatically looped them... It was weird... This might be your problem...

Either that or a glitch like bidi said...
