Where would we draw the line? At the end of the day though your are just expressing your opinion as you should. In a civil way, and I can respect that.

True, but I don't recall roland, propellerhead, imageline, korg, moog and ect coming in and blatantly viral marketing their product either. I think that's where most of the annoyance came from. If the dude would've just came out and been upfront, that probably would've went over better. When people uncovered bk putting the same message up on tons of forums, I think that's when people started to really not give a **** about the product line. Funny thing, alot of people don't like the feeling of being played like that with marketing.

Viral marketing or not, forum members who want to talk about the BT should be able to do so without being persecuted or harrased. Cause at the end of the day, people here a $hitting on they're fellow MPC forum bros. and not the BK's. If your beef is really with them then find a way to attack them via the internet not us...

You wanna make sample based music, then go and sample. Why buy a bunch of pop music sound clips and over processed 808's wrapped up in that software? does it even come with the cardboard crown?

Ever considered that the BT might be a useful alternative for someone who would normally buy a Fantom, Triton, Mo' Phatt or Motif?
There is nothing wrong with having sounds ready to go. That is why people buy modules. To me the fact that the BT samples is a bonus, cause I already have samplers...

jpeg wrote:i aint into crunk i dont plan on making that style of music there are many plugins by the likes of zero-g that fit the mold of a sample pack with a vst wrapper at least this product developed they own front end instead of using a generic kontak interface (no dis to kontakt)

we have seen dudes with the southern influence make beats on it but i see no reason why peeps cant make some nottz type bangers on this, or any other sort of style.

the mo phat also could be labeled as a cop out sound module attempting to appeal to the hip hop market but u gotta know how to get the best out of an instrument.

some beats u do all sample based some beats all synthesis (ruff draft) and other times mix em all together but some of u is too attached to the early 90's backpack **** which i like also but gotta move with the times.

look how cats like sid roams are able to combine samples and synthesis like how alchemist been doing also. any unit which makes it easier/more convenient to achieve this integration warrants a look from me if u aint feeling it cool keep it moving, u dont need to come out ur face to hate.

when the hardware drops some of u gonna be mad as hell. also dont see how speaking on the thang is disrespectful as the sample packs contain wavs which can be loaded up into any sampler so u dont just have to use the sounds on mpcs thats a weak argument.

Here, here.

ok.... Maybe you need to get you something better then your mpc 500 in that case, plain and simple this thing aint ish and its not even like im a akai fanboy i got a asr10 and mpc 2kxl and i use not my Mp but asr10 to chop samples with my ear. i dont need no bs software to do it for me, or to make me feel better cause it chops like a mpc. you obviously wouldn't know how a "classic" mpc chops if you only been on a 500 which i dont know if thats all you ever used or thats the only mpc you ever used cause i wouldnt know. But that was my opinion and thats yours no need to need to quote me on it. but i do agree with using more tools as i do use reason as a sound module and fruity loops for simple editing like time stretching since it makes it so easy. My only problem is the market getting fulled with a bunch of BS software thats useless becasue im sure everything it can do a daw, fl studio, & reason can do at a more solid rate thats why when they drop software they dont have to come on craigslist and A MPC forums to act desperately and promote the ish out of it because what this software only does is make a million more wack beatmakers that think they are producers with there 2 finger piano beats, & thats just my 2 cents like i said no need to quote me over it its my opinion and thats that, have a nice day with ya burger-kang products 8)

thats good, give ur self a pat on the back homie!!,. man, ive used reason since 1.0, i use record, cubase, ive used plenty of mpcs, we use a mpc4000 at school, im also working on my degree in midi music production, ur option dont mean two sh*ts to me dude.. i will use what I use, just like you gonna use what you use, im not gonna hate on ya stuff, its just the mpc2000xl, well its a dope unit, but it just dont cut it for what i do, i am more software based, as for the the mpc500 is a great lil fun machine, something to have a lil fun on in-between classes . and no i dont use auto chop, and yes, reason, and record together can do anything any other software/hardware can do... damn, so you been seeing adds on craigslist for the beat thang??? thats crazy!!!! anyway yea, i will enjoy using the software/hardware that I choose to use, and hope you do the same, but im sure if you started a thread about ur asr I would at least have some respect and not come along to tell you how much it sucks every 2 seconds, I realize it is very fun to hate, but sh*t dude, its all good

aw come on "homie" dont get butt hurt about nothing we just having a discussion here its a thread where we put are input lol! and its koo what you use i use logic as my main daw so coming from things like that i cant respect this software & thats that. i never used the software so theres no possible way i can "HATE" i mean i dislike the concept and the software itself for the reasons i mentioned, when i got into music there was two beat making videos online look at it now its like thousands and thousand and one in a hundred is a good video. the reason why i dont mess with youtube but thats my point it makes a million "2 finger piano Beatmakers" and it makes harder for people that actually have talent. but i agree anything can be done on anything as long you can load samples and have a sequencer . so why keep making these software. and a ASR10 thread and a beatkang thread is two different things asr/eps proved to be classic real hardware samplers beatkang hasn't proven a thing in the music industry yet

i agree that the beat making game is oversaturated but cant be angry at a new company cos of that, they aint the cause this company is created in reaction to the market.

but yes two finger cats will jump on this but no need to complicate beat making just to discourage peeps from getting into it.

cos there will be some garbage cats that get into beats off reason, fruit loops, guru, motu or beat thang and other easy software but there will also be talent peeps that get into it off the same software.

plus just cos ur using some convoluted complexed, obscure method of making beats dont valid ur beats and make em better some cat on the playstation might make some shit iller then the shit u took a week to make.

but im interested to see what kind of shit i can make with it and how it might improve my productivity and diversity of the types of sounds.

absolutely not. It may be useful, but not an alternative to a fantom, motif, or triton.. dont know about the mo'phatt because I dont know anyone who even has one.. wait, a friend of mine did mention that he copped a planet phat.. but i haven't heard anything about it really.

As for the beat thang idea.. there are aspects that I like. The control surface for the program is also a bit of kit that can be used seperately on it's own.. rechargable batts are nice. Problem is, will it even come out? doesn't look too bright. The beat thang virtual doesn't offer anything new except for a low price tag... and some premade loops and drum kits. That is nice for messing around and having some fun.. however I would only by chance use those sounds in another full fledged DAW where I can seriously alter the sounds so they wont come out recognisable... maybe a DAW that supports VST pluggins possibly?

If these guys are seriously not commercially and corporately backed, then cheers to them. I hate the name, I hate the marketting style (for a serious product, the marketting works great for joke and novelty products).. however, I have never been to the south like texas, or nashville or those kinds of places, and maybe that is the type of marketting and product names that people down there like and buy. I have no clue about their local target market... but that doesn't seem to really fly amongst most serious musicians and beat creators who go out and buy thousand dollar drum machines.

details aside, I give it
7/10 for low price tag
2/10 for innovation
1/10 for the presentation (it gets 1 for the humour aspect)
5/10 for the total BT package deal being vapourware (because we dont really know if they will ever release the machine, however they still didn't due date after due date)
3/10 for the sounds, because who needs gigs and gigs of sounds that you need to credit the beat kangs if you ever release a song using the sounds? they aren't free in the first place, and then there is strings attached. They get 3 because they teach you how to use the software, and are required to show demo songs which explains features... every music software needs them and these guys went overboard.

im not getting too but hurt homie, i see ur point of view, and i understand why most of my mpc forum fam hates the thang, their advertising is weak and cheesy, and they did rub alot of people the wrong way right from the start,. i am in no WAY gonna by they're hardware though,. im gonna invest in a new macbook so i can run logic for school,. I dont recomend anyone buy anything the first year it comes out, this goes for cars too.. but yea, all samplers pretty much work the same, with a few different bells and whistles... have you fu*ked with record yet?? homie let he use caps when i say that IT IS THE SH*T!! the sound is off the hook, even when I open my older reason tracks in it they sound different,. but yea, thats a different thread there....stay up fam

nope i haven't got to use record but i just saw a video on youtube on it and  thanks for mentioning it now im going to have to get to it a little quicker, might have to use my student discount to get this! it looks real interesting but i'm learning too much software at one time right now haha so i might have to learn logic a little more then get my head around this. but let me get this right its like reason but more like a daw, wow this has to be sick! i saw a video on it a long time ago but i didn't even know it was out already haha.

yea, it is dope, it takes reason and turns it into a super program, there are more mixing and mastering options, it is sweet, you dont have to have reason open and record they join together, check out the demo,. but yea, i too am learning alot of different apps right now too, so I haven't got to mess with it as much as I want, but i was blown away,. and if you are a registered reason user record is only 150.00!!
