Inserting empty bars in a sequence

Wats up guy? I've jus got a MPC 2500 and tryn to find out how to insert empty bars in a sequence so pro tools 8 will have enough time to sync with it ( Pro Tools as master). Could someone please explain to me in detail how to do this or point me in the right direction?

Just make a new blank 2 bar sequence with the same tempo. Then set the beat in song mode with the blank sequence as the starting sequence.
