My mpc 2500 will not load anysound.....

So i had a liitle trouble loading sound in the mpc 2500
so ibrought a compact flash card reader.
and i loaded the card.
when i plug it into the Mpc i see the name of the file but can't play my sample
what am i doing wrong.

any response to this....just bought a second hand MPC with just internal memory sounds, and am trying to get some stuff off CD and memory card loaded in...any help would be great...

at the load screen under 'load from memory card' the bottom of the screen indicates which area inside the memory card to load from. at first it may say 'root', whereas you press right on the directional keys. it will bring up folders that can be loaded unless they contain other folders. the right button is your friend here, and the wheel will help you choose what files and folders to load (duh!).

however, i think that your problem may possibly be that you haven't formatted the compact flash card. at the load screen f3 (i think) the 'utility' option will format the card for you, and from then on the card will read as 'mpc2500' in your pc. doing this will delete whatever is on the card so be sure to have copies of whatever sounds were on there before you format the card. after formatting shove the mpc in your pc, create some folders to make it nice and organised and stick the corresponding wav files into the folders you choose. rock 'n' roll!

i can only imagine you guys didn't get manuals with your second-hand mpc's. see if the internet provides one, because it answers all your questions and will be fun to read on the toilet here and there.

Are you sure the file is 16bit?
