Recording From Vestax Handy Trax or Computer...

I have my mpc 2000 xl connected to my handy trax but it's not getting any signals through.. the connections im using is rca cables with two phono jack to 1/4" (6.35mm) stereo phone plug adapter on the red labeled and white labeled in the mpc in record in and the other end of the rca w/o the adapters to the line out of the vestax handytrax.

Also i'm trying to record audio from computer to mpc. i'm using is rca cables with two phono jack to 1/4" (6.35mm) stereo phone plug adapter on the red labeled and white labeled in the mpc in record in and rca with ''y'' adapter to "Di" of my mbox 2.

Please tell me if i'm doing this wrong or is there something missing. thanks.

I think Y adaptors don't work for inputs but are ok for outputs

using the rca to y adapter in mpc record in right or left (only one of them) to the vestax actually records signal but it sounds like its not a full sound you can really hear the static. not sure if its like that. but when i use the two phono jack to 1/4" (6.35mm) stereo phone plug adapter (two. one on red and one on white) it doesnt record any signal.

Actually I'm finding out now i get sound but i have to turn up the vol and rec gain to max level...anyone know what the problems is? do I have to change a setting in the mpc or something?
