Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have a mpc2000xl, i just bought it recently, so the problem is kinda complex..
So i am running windows xp, and apparently u cant use the regular external zip drive for this OS so i went out and bought the USB version of the ZIP. After this i uploaded .WAV sounds and tried to put them in my mpc but tht didnt work so i read in another forum tht i had to put either .SND, or .PGM formatted sounds. So i downloaded AWAVE STUDIO 10.2 and converted some samples to this format...Upon doing this from my USB zip drive i put the now .snd file into the 100MB card and put that into my external ZIP drive connected to my mpc and it still does not detect it... ANY SUGGESTIONS????!!! need helpp baddd

Wav will read 16 bit PCM/FLOAT format WAV files, wont read any other bit deth or format, so make sure our converter is set to this, .snd are Akai formatted Sound Files, and the MPC will read this too. Format the disk in the MC, then make sure you load 16 bit PCM/FLOAT format WAV files

AND wav samples MUST be formatted in PCM format, I cannot stress his eough. NO OTHER FORMAT WILL WORK!
