Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Ive had this happen about a dozen times since i got the 500. I would record samples from my synth into the mpc, then sequence it and go back to record again, but it usualy freezes when i either stop the sequence loop or start it up again after recording.

also the sequence that i recorded would be erased after i sample again. I would email akai but they havent responded yet. i have the latest os too.

Try and re-create the error. You may be able to find which step in your workflow caused it to happen and eliminate it or find a away around it.

It could be an OS bug, or it could be that a sample is corrupt. Or something random we don't know and never will.

For example I had a sequence I was working on that froze all the time and I couldn't figure it out. I re-created it and it turns out I kept trying to record another sample to a track while the sequence was playing, and that caused it to crash. Once I recorded the track with the sequence not playing it didn't crash.

I don't understand WHY, but it works.
