data wheel replacements...

i know this gets asked all the time... but has anyone found a decent replacement knob for data wheel on the mpc2500 yet? i did a lot of searching and found nothing... and no i do not mean an exact replacement from mpcstuff or whatever. i mean a whole different knob in it's place entirely.

does anyone know the dimensions of the data wheel? that'll be a starting point...

it's a pretty odd piece.. I doubt anything would fit in its place exactly. You'd probably end up having to make a new small PCB that would sit on top of the factory one and then run some wires. Your best bet would probably be to modify the factory datawheel to reduce noise, soften the clicks, etc. it's all possible.

my data wheel got pretty screwed after copping some years of abuse.

instead of buying the encoder i bought the whole board from mpcstuff and i gotta say that it's alot smoother and quieter than the original one that came with the mpc.
