Wait... SCSI Problems

I have allowed it more than 10 minutes one time. It is completely frozen forever until I reboot.

yeah I have no idea whats up...

there are a few pros on the 2000 classic around here who might know those symptoms... maybe fung or someone might be able to help.

oh, and if things are similar on the classic as the xl... make sure the scsi device is not on scsi ID 6...

Yea there isn't a SCSI device plugged in, nor do I have one to test it with...

Odd fact: When I start up the MPC without the OS floppy inserted, the machine polls SCSI port 7 before asking me to insert startup disk. Is it normal for it to look to port 7? I guess I will call on the 2000 pro who was recommended.

well cant you point a device to being the default device? maybe scsi 7 is set as default... I haven't a clue though because I am no sure of the technicals of the classic 2000. I haven't a clue if any data can even be stores for those types of settings.

So... It turned out to be nothing. I found a SCSI drive and plugged it in and everything works fine...

I feel really dumb. Oh well, if anyone else has this problem we know the cure!

i just bought an 250 Zip Iomega and my mpc si saying wait and when i disconnect the cable from the mpc it says No SCSI Device..... what to do... i need an answer plz

i am new this web site and i own a XL i have a Zip drive 250 with no switches to the back of it...but i want to know if it will work with my MPC

i have a XL and the zip i just got have no switches to the back like term. on off and scsi ID 5,6 cause when i power up my mpc and go to the load window it jus sayin wait.....

put it on scsi ID 1.

and dont plug or unplug the scsi cable if the machine is on... you could fry something that way

That's not a SCSI zip drive.
