SEQ tracks are your 1-8 instrument buttons.
SONG tracks are your 1-8 instrument buttons.

All together 16 shared tracks, shared between SONG and SEQ.

Your going to drive yourself crazy trying match up screens and buttons.
Turn off the mpc and only mess with the keyboard for a few weeks.

yeah don't try to compare the machines menu's and stuff, they work completely differently, i thought that'd help me understand the asr but it just made me confused..

at first its really frustrating, the best thing you can do (or at least this worked well for me) is to try to make really simple beats, dont put any artistic pressure on yourself like "my first beat on this machine has to be fire", make it bad on purpose if you have to (thats what i did). but actually going through processes that you would use while making a song is what will help you understand what you need to understand..

hahaha, no Lamp i only turned on my mpc once or twice since and only for the midi,i'm not trying to match them it's just my learning processes, every instrument i own, thats how i learnt it.finding those fields similar and seeing how they work recongnize how they work you know ,
like in the params you can pitch ,speed, filter ,envelope, timestretch
sequnc where u build your tracksmix down adjust levels.
pad banks, if it wasnt for that stuff,i tahnk akai for that probably cause it was the machine i bought but i'm sure the mv does the same right ?
there al similar in away i my opinion.
yeah ive been tweakin on this board up late nights drinking much coffee just messin with it since i got it and downloaded the manual it helps too , but it's another lang sometimes with the repeating of things in different ways it just racks the brain.

As a listener, it needs some work. It is pretty muddy and I think you need to balance some things out.

question about saving. ok i have a 2 disk only the os disk and a disk that was probably forgotten in the drive years ago. anyways i went to save my project and it asked for the Os disk, the disk that was currently in the drive had bank files and such, i could never get them to work, and right now i have my project on the board . and i want to save should i save to that Os disk? and what if it gets corrupt or something how will i load my board again?

apparently the disk i use to use for my mpc don't work for this one when i save to a mpc disk it says its corrupt.

i check the manual but it doesn't specify,
thanks

oh yeah i'm using a EPS16+
i was checking about the way to save as mentioned up afew post and on my manual it says to save from global params that will save and load everything as is, but that will erase what evr is in memory at current time.
is saving instruments and banks , like prgms(kits)?

only uses dsdd disks
and never save to the os disk keep that for OS only unless you absolutely have to!
so 720kb of saving on one disk but it saves to multiple disks but they have to be formatted pre saving

thers no label on it ,this disk was a disk i found inside the drive when i bought it,it has info for a program on it ,i couldnt get it too work for me so i was gingt o save my stuff to it. as i'm formatting it says thhat the data is corrupt, i figured it would work since it was in the drive and has info on it.but ive follow the directions on the manual for formatting.i'm trying to save my song, even on a 1.44dd hd i get the same thing , i tried it on one of my old mpc flopy disk
