Hey guys,

I wanna change my preproduction workflow.

The idea is:

I connect my M-3 and MPC 1000 via MIDI. The Korg is used as a soundmodule, the sequencing and the drums, FX samples and special things I wanna do with the MPC are done there. So in the end, I have Audio from the MPC and the M3 and MIDI Data only from the MPC.

How can I realize that??? What do I need to do in both units to make that happen?

----------------

After that I wanna go into the studio connect both units to Logic, record all audio syncing the MPC sequencer to Logic 9.1. How can I do that? Is it also possible to use the second MIDI bus for another instrument, or for Logic in the studio situation???

Sorry, I did not understand the whole syncong stuff until now! Hopefully this will change soon! And please write slowly, I am an amateur MMA - fighter :D  :D

you need to connect the mpc's midi out to the korg's midi in, and the audio out from both units to your mixer or audio interface or whatever.

for more specific details see the manuals.

if you want more specific answers, you need to be more specific about what you have tried, what you already understand, what didn't work when you tried it, otherwise you're expecting people to spend their time writing out step by step instructions that might be a waste of time if you've already done half the work

i do not understand if it is possible to sequence multiple midi channels from the mpc and the korg m3 at the same time?

in the manual there is only the info that you can connect both units and that yu can send midi to the external keyboard.

how many midi channels can i use on the mpc and how many on the m3 at the same time, or do i have to split the 16 channels???

aha, now that's a more specific question, which deserves a decent answer :)

see page 22 of the manual, you can set a different midi channel for each track

the mpc1000 has two midi outputs and you can control 16 channels on each, so the mpc can control up to 32 different midi channels. the M3 looks liek it only has one midi in, so would only be able to receive on 16 channels at once

I don't know the M3, but it's a pretty high-end piece of gear, so you should be able to assign a different voice to each midi channel, and probably far more than that

yes that is right with 16 channels inside the m3 with selectable nstruments there! thank you!

and i can also sequence my internal mpc samples at the same time?

yes, you can have 64 tracks per sequence, so if you had 16 tracks sending midi data to the M3 you could still have up to 48 tracks playing internal samples on the mpc
