problem loading files onto mpc hard drive via usb

I'm on mac 10.4.11

I have tried using JJOS 3.09 and latest akai os.

Hard drive is a western digital 80gig

When I go into usb load mode everything seems fine, I drag the folders I want (all stuff that should work on the mpc) and it starts transfering. Halfway through it will just stop and get stuck. Won't even let me eject the disk so I can disconnect.

nothing like this came up in the search.

Is this a mac thing?

I'm running the same OS on the MAC with the latest akai OS My usb only showed up 1 time on my computer. i really think its a bug between the two systems.

I see this also happening on my Mac with OS 10.4.11....and it looks like a USB timeout or disconnect.
I tried it in several ways...but it just doesn't keep a reliable connection via USB.

What i did is that i bought a HD USB case...and every once in a while i take out my HD....connect it into the HD case...and connect this one again with my Mac and transfer all necessary files.

For small quick conversions of files i use a mediacard reader...so i don't have to connect my MPC with my Mac.

I know...it is bothersome....but this way it is stable.

I bought my MPC with the CF reader broken (Blk Back 299.00) I did a CF HHD mod so the cf thing ain't an option for me. We need some type of patch that no one probably gives a da*n about which means were stuck. I want to put JJ OS 3.09 but cant because It won't sync up to my computer.

Btw.....i work with JJOS 1...so i guess that won't make any difference.

I thought it was a mac thing but I tried on a buddies XP pc and had similar problems. I think it just times out. Maybe users on other OS's can confirm?

I am able to move stuff on to the mpc reliably if it is small, somewhere in the neighborhood of 50mb. When I reported the issue I was trying to dump ~600mb.

Getting the computer to see the harddrive initially is another story. I found that sometimes you have to reboot the mpc and try usb again.
