Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I thought I already posted this, guess not, since I can't find the thread. Anyways....

Sorry if this is already out there, I search and couldn't find anything about it.

I just recently got a 2000 Classic, FINALLY! I've had a 1000 for years, but the pads suck (I know, we all know LOL). Anyways, there is some weird stuff going on with this 2K and I was wondering if somebody could help, or could give advice.

Some of the pads (mainly pads 1-4) act funny. When I hit Pad 1, it simultaneously hits Pad 2 , when I hit pad Pad 2, it simultaneously hits pad 3, etc. It does this for all 4 bottom pads. The rest of the pads 5-16 work flawlessly...

So, what do you guys think? Do I need new pads? Do I need to clean the sensors? I don't know, never heard of this before.

Thanks!

tey opening it up and cleaning the sensors... and worse comes to worse you buy a new sensor kit.

well open it up, look closely at the traces... then use rubbing alcohol to clean off dirt. take the sensor sheet off though... use a soft cloth and alcohol. try not to scratch it too much so you dont damage the traces.

Just replaced the pad sensors with new ones from MPCSTUFF. Still having the same problem. Any other suggestions?

I have a 2000 XL. You should try to look to the metal contacts where the scheme is connected to, maybe they are bent or something like that. Mines have been damaged and I fixed by putting toilet paper inside it for them to stay tight :]] funny, but works. Hope that will help.

Maybe reinstalling OS would help?

I believe that is my problem. Can you please take a pic? I know its similar, but I don't understand what you mean by metal contacts "scheme"...

Here you can see some paper below the scheme (sorry for my english, I don't know how to call it). My metal contacts were bent a little, so paper ensures that they have a contact with the scheme. Tell me if that helps.
