Just noticed this tuning bug:
Take a musical loop, like a bass loop and assign it to pad A1. Take the tuning down to -01.80
Go to TRIM and copy the sample and on this copy highlight the name, hit WINDOW and tune the sample to -01.80 (i.e. in the TRIM 'sample' screen)
The tuned down version in PROGRAM sounds identical to the tuned down version in TRIM.
Now take the original untuned sample and assign it to pad A2. In a sequence, record pad A2 so the loop plays in the sequence. Go into STEP EDIT and change the tuning (T) to read -18.
In other MPCs, this 'T' value of -18 would be identical to the -01.80 tuning in either TRIM or PROGRAM. However, it's clear that in the MPC5000, this tuning isn't identical. In fact a tuning of -24 is what's required to match a -01.80 tuning in the other screens.
Odd.
