yup.

What you need:

68 pin SCSI drive... 4.3 or 9.1 gig model

50 pin ribbon cable

68 pin to 50 pin adapter

12v power switch

Solder

Patience.

I have a shitton of the converters, and may have a hook on the drives sooner than later. but they are out there for cheap... dont pay too much... dig around

pretty simple.

any Idiot can do it (even Jazzbee)

exactly... although I know SCSIforsamplers is on to something that I am wondering about... SCSI to ATA bridges are expensive still... and for the units that they sell card readers for, they are all operating on standard wide SCSI protocol... meaning they either have a self-built Bridge adapter, or they have made card readers that accept SCSI protocol and have Device ID jumpers.

HMMM..

$125 to find out... unless someone wants to post a pic?

something about that doesn't look right. let me know if you can sort something out with a cab;e like that... **** 50 pin with a connector at 40 pin? hmm.... that might work for CD roms though, but large hard drives forget about it if they are IDE.

I thought the extra wires on the SCSI 50 pin cable were for the SCSI ID? I could be wrong though.

on a sidenote...

I totally popped a few fuses in my eps16 rack tonight... messing around for no reason except I had the case open doing some investigation.

shouldn't be an issue, its just for the lcd lights. 1.5a 250v smallies.

BUT

I wanted to check that the internal memory expander on the rack was the same as the card in the expander on the keys...

So, I opened up my sample expander card on the EPS 16 keyboard I got a little while back on the cheap, and I had always had an issue that the thing would flake out when you got about half loaded on the sample time... so I was pretty sure it was in the volatile memory section anyway... and after some cleaning... (looked like the board had been wet at some point)... I noticed one of the pins on one of the ram chips had a really bad solder.. as in none at all type ish...

So some bad, some good. cant decide which machine I want to blow up next on testing... I wish I had a couple mpcs spare. :oops:

BTW... xl's have ATAPI/IDE slots. On the real.

you only need a cable, and a internal to external cf card reader.
(I dont use this exact model, but same thing.
