HELP ! NEW to MPC 2500 - Questions

Hi Guys,

I am brand new to this site, and brand new to the mpc 2500 - only had it for 3 days now. So i have a few questions....

1) If i'm creating a SEQUENCE - how do I go about renaming the sequence? For example, at the moment it is named: 07-Sequence07. I would like to rename it to 07-Bass01.

2) At the moment I have 16mb RAM, which is upgradeable to 128 MB. If i upgrade to 128 MB, what benefit do i get? Am I safe to assume that much like a computer - it would allow for faster and more efficient operation of the mpc?

3) How much memory is on the MPC when it is stock? I realize i can connect an internal hdd...but what about an external drive thru usb?

4) I have lots of drum sounds and samples on my PC, thru using Ableton Live and Reason - How can I load these sounds into the mpc.

I realize that some of this will be explained in the manual. I am in the process of reading thru the manual - but in the mean time, I would hightly appreciate any feed back any one has.

do yourself a favour and read your manual and big parts of this forum before asking such basic questions that have been answered over and over again. at least you mentioned the manual - if you didn´t you would be probably hated from someone by now.

other than that: keep an eye on the "window" button - if it lights up you might find another screen if you press it!

we all learned by reading, watching youtube videos and just using the mpc - mostly you cannot break anything by trying.

feel free to ask more questions, but try to solve easy things yourself.

make a folder on pc for sounds. save all sounds at 16 / 44.1.

connect mpc to pc w usb.

drop pc sound files folder into mpc folder via pc.

load said sounds from within mpc.
