Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I recently bought the MPC2000XL tutorial posted in the sticky link above and I've found in the first tutorial I need to "transfer the TEST folder to my preferred disk format." I'm assuming now I'm going to need to purchase a USB Zip drive? Or would I be able to burn the files onto a CD and use the SCSI CD player/burner to transfer the files onto my MPC? For some reason I just assumed all of the files I'd get I would be able to sample through the MPC's Record-In plugs.

Thanks

On your computer, just burn the folder to a CD and load it into the MPC since you have a SCSI CD drive.

You can sample the files into your MPC BUT:
a) it takes longer to load them that way
b) You will have to manually rename each sample once its in the MPC
c) YOU CAN'T SAMPLE THE .PGM FILE!!!! You will have to load it via Zip disk or SCSI drive
d) and... it takes longer to load them that way
