Tested...... FAIL

Ah dude ... I feel your pain. That must have been so disappointing!

Awesome work by the way, legendary.

What's your next trick? Clone the entire machine but bring a few things up to date :)

Not so far fetched ... I'm building an Arduino based step sequencer. It won't sample (although it's been done with Atmel chips http://narrat1ve.com/) but I'm ripping lots of ideas for the software from the early MPCs. The main addition will be TR drum machine style programming, I know the MPC is a slightly different paradigm but I've missed it on any MPC I've owned.

:) It's early days ...

Very nice!!

I have a fix for everyone out there that will extend the life of your screen for those who use the machine non stop. I left my machine on overnight once and it got lines in the screen. Let me know if you are interested. If you have some simple soldering skills it will be very easy to do, especially on the 2000xl!

BTW, JellyJim, thats sick!

Wait about 1 week and I'll be posting pics of my latest monster..... 9 feet long, 4 feet deep..... lots and lots of goodies. :)

Debauch,

Well, the contract called for 4 evauluation FINAL units, so I'll have those to test and make sure they're right.....

After that, I have to see what I have on hand for cash to throw at this.
I'm a lot of money into this already (Over $5,000.00) which is dirt considering what this project is.....

How many I order, and how much they cost, are directly related to each other, and related to how much I'll be able to spend to order whatever quantity.

I am hoping to order 100 units for my first order, but it might end up only being 25 or 40..... too soon to tell.

Wish I had better info.....

soon soon soon

well sounds tough... hopefully you can recoup the money spent, especially since your time wont be (most likely)

you been at that for a good while. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Booo.... that project is held up now... Was SO close, then all of a sudden went from 15v to 33v.... something is shorting/bridging across multiple 15v rails..... BOOOOO

No time to jump right into it, have two albums to mix and master...... gonna be a minute.... gonna have to disassemble and put her back together one piece at a time, testing voltage and signal as I go, find it, correct it, and she'll be done :) Couple weeks probably. No details till done :) Oooooh, so secretive. Worth the wait tho

SMC, if you pulled this off, you have the right to Lampdog's gold letters, and you will be obligated to use them from now on. Dude, this is absolutely awesome. Im studying electronics and I was messing with an old burned out 2000, but to no avail, had negative luck. You are right tho, that thin piece of laminate on the bck of the screen sucks at keeping heat out. If you get it done, put me on the list, I got cash in hand homie. Thanks!
