is it possible to program an active pan?

is it possible to program an active pan? making a sound move l to r and back, within the 2000?

An active pan, no. I tried but I couldn't figure out how.

well i'm not sure if those are pans in the STEREO window, and if so , i use INDIV so it prolly won't help me, but if so, then i would assign the same sound to like 4 pads. Go and adjust the pan for each one, for the first 9 oclock, 2nd-11 oclock, 3rd 1 oclock, and 4th hard right-switch them to MONO or NOTE OFF with a lil reverb.

WHAT WOULD BE HOT! if there where a second note assign fader, but if went L to R ( like a crossfader ) but you be panning, guess it could be knob, but imo that fader is so Tweakable.lol

These instructions are for the 2000XL:

After you've recorded the sequence(or during if you wanna step record) press STEP in the main screen> scroll til you find the note/pad you wanna pan(or if you're step recording you can do it as you go)> when you find the first note/pad you wanna pan hit the INSERT soft key(F4)> change Type: to MIXER(all the way to the right)>cursor over to STEREO LEVEL and change it to STEREO PAN> cursor to the note/pad and change it to the correct note/pad you wanna pan> cursor to the P: and change it to wherever you want it in the stereo field, repeat for every note/pad you wanna assign a specific pan position to.

right now i'm lit and lazy, will this work for the 2000, cuz i'll be in the lab after i blaze.......

Panning is part of mixing isn't it.... Think about really, really basic mixers. They usually have just volume & pan on each channel because EQ involves more complex circuitry. The internal mixer in the MPC is a very basic one, but when you set it to "Record mix changes" you can record both volume changes & panning.

The answer to your first question is: yes

Go through Bravo's instruction then go back to STEREO on the mixer menu. Choose the pad with the sample you want to pan using PAD BANK & the pad itself. On the mixer window click you UP cursor to get onto the pan control.
Press record and move the pan with your scroll wheel...it is best to record this on its own track, or overdub it on a track that is playing that sound.....just so later editing is easier.

Play......it should work.

To do it in STEP mode like nanoloop says:
Press INSERT. Scroll through the types until you get to MIXER. DO IT then change the STEREO LEVEL info that is in your step screen to STEREO PAN.

Step mode is best if you just want a short sound to first appear on one side & then on another etc. as it uses less controller information.
