yo i have a question and ive spent all day looking online and cant find much info


christmas is coming up and im thinking of asking for something to go along with my asr, like an external scsi drive but i don't know what i need. i know that i'd like to have a more efficient way of saving/loading/all that

whats the difference between using the built in floppy reader and using a scsi floppy reader? i don't really know shit

would it be better to use a cd-reader?

grublet, or anyone else, can you help me out with this?-

for some reason, once i've resampled something, effects no longer affect it.

i have a clapping loop, and a kick and a snare. i resampled the clapping loop through a reverb. it worked fine. i turned boost off, and normalized the gain. now, effects don't affect it. i can turn on a delay effect, and the snare and kick react to it, but the claps don't. same with another sample on a different instrument. once a sample has been resampled through an effect, i can't add any more. any ideas?

You have to resample main outs + effects :P (wet)

effectively, once you resample the wet signal, it is going to be on a new instrument (if you choose to). So, then the sample is processed, and if you resample again, then it will apply again .


Don't have my asr out, so look for resample+effects in the sample page. And make sure you keep it (press yes).

If you are still having issues, resample to new instrument.

there isnt "mainout+fx", there's just main out. you might be thinking of input+fx, but thats different.

i'll try to resample to a different instrument, that seems like it might work. but right now, once something has been resampled, effects no longer work on it. so i just have to put it on a new instrument every time i resample. that won't be a problem though cause once its resampled i can move it back to whatever instrument i want it on

i just figured it out. when you resample something i think it changes the OUT=BUS1 (or whatever it was) to bus 3. so its running through a dry bus. all you gotta do is change it to bus1, and it'll run through another effect. i've been messing with it for a few hours and its awesome.

Hi guys, just purchased ASR-10, it is beautiful.

What is the most easiest way to move wav files from PC to ASR? I'm reading that SCSI disk drive has to be ASR formatted to be recognized by ASR... so how i can then connect it to the PC so it can be read by Windows?

Can I use Ensoniq Disk Tools to read my SCSI ASR formatted drive?

I got 1G SCSI disk currently connected to ASR-10. How I can physically connect it to a Windows PC? Is there some SCSI to USB converter?

I have bought this on ebay:
SCSI ADAPTEC AHA-2940UW

This is a SCSI controller, which should work without drivers on Windows XP. Hopefully this will let me connect my SCSI disk to the PC.

One more question -- what's the difference between ASR formatted hard disk and computer formatted one? Can ASR read data from computer formatted disks (formatted using ASR)?

Also, how i can load into my ASR SCSI hard disk the latest ASR operating system? I got ASROS 3.53 as EDA file but don't have a floppy, only a hard disk.

Try to send the .eda file to the root directory of the hard disk with EnsoniqFS.
You can also format the hard disk or make an image file of the contents with EnsoniqFS.
