I didn't find any real secret to the screens. I looked at the schematics and immediately realized what they did when I spotted the two chip selects. I am not aware of any other LCD system designed like the MPC2000/XL/DPS12.

Most displays that size have four CS. The fact that they separate those lines out at the interface is certainly not what makes it unique. The fact you keep talking about a schematic proves to me that you've got no idea how this display works. I have the MPC schematic, too - there is nothing in that diagram that can tell you anything about the work we've done. Nothing.

Tell you what - if you can tell me what data manipulation has to be done in setup after initialization to get incoming data to display on the LCD, I'll start recognizing you've done the work. Until then, you can keep a lid on it.

Well, I really don't find that in the spirit of this board. Most everyone here is more than eager to share ideas and help others. Some types of attitude are likely to make the board less palatable and I would hate to see some of the people around less often. Many here know this equipment better than any current Akai/Numark employee.

Not everyone vomits up everything they know or do around here (this isn't Facebook/Twitter). I don't talk about my projects before they are complete since it all comes out sounding like vapor-ware or ego-ware.

looking at the chips i see some seiko epson logo's. Seiko used to make a lot of lcd's but dont think they do as much now.
the whole display is pretty weird. im sure if someone is clever enough to work from the schematic you can see which connection does what. its just finiding a display of similar characteristics and working backwards. theres a few i think are hackable but time is thin round here. Good luck envisionelec, ill be buying a display when you work it out.
