For those that sync MPC & Pro Tools via Midi

I want to use mpc as master to keep timing and can't get it to work properly. 2 questions:

1. Is it even possible to have pro tools as slave to mpc and have it sync *perfectly*
2. For anyone that has this setup and thinks it's working correctly...can you null the audio out completely if you record the same track again with it synced?

I've searched everywhere and i can't find anything that shows they will null. I can get it close, but never perfect. If you record a track and then open a new track and record the same thing again using sync with mpc as master and invert the 1st audio does it null? Can someone who thinks they have this working verify?

Why not search? Maybe you'd find the thread "sync any mpc to pro tools" and try this yourself.

Did it, synced it, doesn't null. Can you verify if it nulls with yours? With mpc synced activate track, record 16 bars, activate another track record same 16 bars, invert the first and press play...does it null?

doesn't nulls, the mpc drifts always around 10/12 ms from the beginning to bar 40th
sometimes starts even 1 or 2 ms before the bar, then ends 8/9 after

also the setup in that page says to turn MMC on in the mpc out, but doesn't say how to set pro tools MMC, in fact MMC doesn't work, and if I enable MMC in pro tools (slave), then I press record in pro tools and play in the MPC, it doesn't record because disengage the pro tools record button

I haven't figured out yet why I get these problems, but I've surely followed the Akai spec.

Another thing, akai says to put a pre-roll of 2 bars, good, but I don't understand where. If it means in Pro Tools, pre-roll doesn't work, I can put 10 bars and always starts at bar 1 (I think because it is locked online to the MPC, so the pre-roll doesn't work?) If they mean on the MPC, pre-roll in the MPC is max 1bar..
