Booting Problem with Mpc 2k Classic

A friend of mine can't get his Mpc 2k classic to boot up.He changed the floppy drive with a new one,got a boot disc from a working 2k(on the advice of an Akai Tech) but it would only read the disc ...not boot all the way up.I have searched the forum but have not found an answer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks!!!

Try this:

Connect an external zip drive to the mpc,
get the mpc o/s onto the zip disk and it should load the o/s from scsi zip.

A usb zip may be needed to copy the o/s from pc to zip disk.
