Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Yo Mpc peeps. Is a phono preamp really necessary? I have a couple of high output moving magnet cartridges and a technics turntable. I just bought a "cheap" BBE FJB-200X preamp today. Didn't open it yet. Wondering what's your take on it. I was previously thinking about getting the Hagerman bugle. I need some feedback. My mixer had regular mic preamps but I read that they do not negate the RIAA equalization and my sound may not be as "pure" as it should be. Peace.

A preamp question in the 500 forum?!? HUH?

Yes most turntables require a preamp to reach a decent level.

My bad, I must have gotten confused by the obviously confusing, double meaning question you asked... ???
