Warping Samples

I was wondering is there any way you can warp samples on the 2000xl I want to stretch the end of a sample but I don't know how to do this. I know you can do it in Ableton Live and in Logic. But I don't use those programs please help

You can use timestretch but it sounds crap, so I wouldn't bother if I were you.

Either use a software program or work on stepping up your chopping game to smooth out the problem.

I dont know what you mean by warp..but making your sample longer without changing the pitch of the sample Can be done by timestretch...you cant time stretch if you save programs tho.. some may think timestretch **** sounds up..but if you do it in small precentages, by 10 percents at a time you will notice your sample getting longer but not all slowed and **** up..if that helps any... timestretching is definately a life saver tho..dont sleep on using it cause others dont know how to utilize it

Even a 10% stretch can sound awful in the XL... not to mention the several hours it can take to complete.

It's a no-brainer to find the best workarounds within the XL itself, or to process your timestretch with software.

i never have a problem with that...i got the xl..in alot of cases i go further than 10 percent and its fine..the most ive ever waited was 3 4 or minutes for it to complete too...wonder why so long on yours...like i mentioned in my previous post...not a good idea if you slice your samples and save them as a program....best way i would actually do it is in the decay mode or velocity mode..

I've heard people mention on here that they've left the XL processing a timestretch overnight and they've got up the next day and it was still incomplete! My personal record was around 5 hours...

If the OP has a computer (which I assume he has), he's much better off using Audacity, Soundforge or whatever to timestretch. The 5 minutes or 5 hours waiting around is just dead time that could be better spent making music.

**** thats a long wait...i remember when i first messed around with timestretch i was wondering what the wait was..but never have the problem anymore...a program would definately help tho..

When I had the XL, I would only timestretch short drum sounds (and make sure you trim it to the max before any processing!) It worked fast, but on anything more than 0.5 seconds, it takes too long. Save yourself the time and get some additional hardware/software to do what the XL can't do. An SP-303/404 sounds like the tool you need.
