The only feature I'd get excited about in Load would be the ability to audition samples while the sequence plays... preferably with the added bonus of being able to use a Qlink as a pitch fader. 8)

Me too, I don't get it. I must have missed some previous discussion about this feature. Can someone please explain what it's suppose to do. From what I think I understood this feature groups a program and the samples within the program into a separate file, so if that's correct I still don't see the benefit of this feature.

Yeah I gave it a try last night and didn't see any benefit either. But I was too tired to look into it any deeper. I'll try this again shortly and see if I missed anything.

here's the benefit: a single folder with a large variety of programs to choose from

before, if you wanted to have 1 big folder full of pgms, you'd have to have the pgms and samples all jumbled up in the same folder. this'd be a mess, because of the alphabetical list style of the browser. you'd have to browse to the program name before loading it, scrolling past a mess of "GUITAR01, GUITAR02" etc before finding "GUITAR.PGM"

now, with packs, you can just save packs into a single folder and browse them without the mess of samples in the way.
it's quite a good feature, really, if you reuse programs. unfortunately, i don't so it's not too useful for me
but if i ever upload pgms for people, i'll be uploading pac files.

i just hope jj implements a "settings" file that contains all the memorized setup info...pad sensitivity settings, click settings, etc etc. that'd be fantastic. good for bug reproduction, too.

i was thinking the same thing. ive been working on something over the last few days in which the set up is critical - meanwhile i ran into a bug that stopped me from doing exactly what i wanted and was uploading other os's to see if it helped the situation ( i seem to remember doing something similar before without any problems), its been a right pain resetting everything each time.

The pack feature is fine - it will make the file organisation much better....
