i just got a new 2000xl with the 8 outs and CD -rom . everything is perfect but the 8outs and the digi outs are not working but the digital in is working and the stereo outs are working so my question is , is there someway to turn on the other outs or do you have to disconnect the stereo outs to make them ?

You don't have to 'turn them on' but you have to make sure to assign pads to whichever out you use. It's in the 'mix' screen, under a button called 'indiv'.

As for the digi-out, I cannot remember, is it just always going or do you have to enable it like maybe in the same screen where you can adjust the master output level.

still don't know why i cannot get my sound card to accept the digital signal , so i have found a workaround . i now use my old roland recorder as front end for the MPC and now i can use the digital outs !

For my particular sound card (m-audio firewire audiophile), I have to set the 'clock source' to EXTERNAL if I want to use the digital SPDIF in.
Point is, you might have to enable it in pc.

Well, I imagine it's still just a setting somewhere.

Also, consider if you REALLY need that digital out. That seems like a pretty big hassle for very little gain. You should test for yourself if you can even hear the difference...I personally think it's nice to have but a bit overrated.
