Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

HI JD,

thanks for the card readers that you sold me, they are the best investment I have made since buying the sampler.
If you get the ATAPI readers working I will buy one.

Thanks again

@scsiforsamplers,

Too bad that you guys had to stop,
Was ready to buy 2 scsi racks from you guys.
My question(s) now are, Were can I get those nice 19"racks that you used?
From what manufacturer are they?
And what combination of cardreader and scsi converter did you use for the ASR10?
I've bought a couple of acard ide/scsi converters and 2 different ide cardreaders, but couldn't get it to work with my ASR10, but on my asrx and mpc's they worked beautifully.

Thanks in advance

Hello, JD here - thanks again to everyone for their kind words.

I sold the Glyph 19" 1U and 2U racks. I still have some 1U and 2U racks left and could possibly help you, so contact me if you are still interested.

In my experience, the ASR samplers only work with the IODATA IDSC21-E SCSI-to-IDE cards and those are kind of hard to find. I have a few left. As for the CF adapter, that really should not matter.

I am unable to reply to PMs here (I'm not sure why, except that my account is new), so if anyone wants me to contact them, send me a PM and include your email address in it. I will then email you back.

Sorry to hear about thiat, RIP SCSI for samplers. SCSIforsamplers is there any way you could forward me some instructions to the 2000 classic card reader 'hack'. I think I have all the parts but I only have some lo res photos to go off. I know you have to hijack the external scsi and feed the ribbon back into the case via a cut slot or between the metal outer case but I don't know what to do from there. Also can you recommend a CF card that you know works with the 2000 classic?

Send me a PM with your email address and I'll contact you. I still have the MPC2000 Classic install kits available if anyone needs one. It comes with everything you need (except the drive) and detailed installation instructions.

JD, I'm very sorry to hear the news about scsiforsamplers - thanks again for helping to revive my K2000 - card reader is doing great! My goal was to be ZIP/Jaz drive free and it's happening quickly.

Take care -
Steve

Damn!! Glad I got everything I needed from you "JD" when the money was flowing like water.

This thread just reinforced my decision to keep all my Card readers etc..

Much respect!
