Please Help

hello, ive had a mpc 500 for a year and a half and it's been working fine. Recently every time i turn it on my letters and numbers are scrambled, and nothing makes sense. everything else works except the screen. is there a solution to my problem at all, i don't have money to buy a new one or to upgrade. please help!!!

Did you ever find a solution? I've got the exact same problem! I've reinstalled the CF card and ram, re installed the OS and nothing. It used to go back to normal when i did a sodimm test but now it passes the test and its still scrambled Please help people, i have some audio on there i need to record for a project.

The menu shows up as

Sq:01-

and thats it. when i tap tempo to change into a sequense it shows up as

0equence♪:120.0
Sq:01-

and if i use the scroll wheel it goes from Aequence to Bequence, Cequence and Dequnce

'Its impossible to navigate as the menu is so hard to read and sometimes you cant press the cursor down to go down in the menu. Qlink light wont work, nor will the rec or the overdub light.

Could be a problem with your RAM being corrupted. Try taking out the RAM and see if it works just using the internal 16MB.

If your able to use the machine fine without the extra ram, you've found your problem.

I did this before and it did not fix it. I dont know what to do. the menus cannot be navigated properly. this is shitting me to tears! anyone selling a mpc1000 and willing to send it to aus?

I just dont understand what has happened. how do i degrade it from OS 1.31?

Are you telling me you guys have no idea? That this bug is some sort of mutant and its fairly new? Can i have the honor of naming it? haha

on a more serious note, this problem is ticking me off. Should i sell the 500 for parts and just go with a 1000 or 2500?
How do i play the programs and sequences on my cf card on my pc?

to play stuff on your pc i think you only need fruity loops or ableton or a similar software t:D
