OS2XL - Grid mode - no move function?

greetings

playing around with OS2XL 2.15 now. In the GRID mode there is no MOVE function like in the 3.12 OS. How do you guys move an event? So far I can only do it like this: Copy the event I need to move, paste it where needed and then delete the one I don't need.

p.s. I wonder what's the logic behind removing the MOVE function.

Plus you'll be stuck if you need to move events to the next tick due to the lack of ZOOM IN precision.

I think Things like this are way more important & useful than the new looper mode. Not to say looper mode isn't a good/innovative feature,but this is a MIDI PRODUCTION CENTER & little things like that can make midi production alot easier. I appreciate that JJ is constantly coming with new ideas,& there's alot of people to please. I just wish some of the midi stuff could be takin care of too,but I'm just one voice among so many.

click that and then go up to the time zone and move your note...
also, i swear 9 times out of 10 when someone requests something it already exists in SEQ EDIT

In Grid Edit mode (PAD+15) I get MUTE for the F5 button.

True. But I prefer to edit with visual feedback.

I do and nothing changes. Are you also using the 2.15 release?

I know the move edit but let me be more explicit.

If you do finger drumming with no TC and let's say you have 3 events on approximately the same "column" and you want to move them to the next tick.
It's slow to move the events individually. It's slower to do a multiple selection, copy and paste it and delete the old one. It's not a good solution to spend much time going back and forth SEQ EDIT and GRID EDIT when you are doing a lot of errors and trial.

There's no good solution for moving multiple events in grid edit mode quickly and repetitively.

It would be good if there was a cut and paste option or a move function straight in grid edit.

yep, I was surprised that there is no CUT option.

I've just started using JJ OS version 2XL 3.06 on a 2500 and have been making my way through the
manual this week.

I see that you can make small adjustments of single notes using the [EDIT] as stated above, but what would be
more useful to me would be to have a [MOVE] function which would allow you to select a region of notes the
same way that the [COPY] and [DELETE] functions work. This type of [MOVE] would allow you select multiple notes
at once and move them an arbitrary distance from their original position.

A possible way this could work is to add a dedicated [SELECT] function for highlighting the region you are interested
in and then, once you have your selection highlighted, you could choose to either [MOVE], [COPY], [CUT] or [DELETE]
the region.

I'm new to JJ OS so I apologize if this already exists.

That doesn't exist already but I think JJ is working on that. I don't know how it will be implemented (cut and paste, multiple MOVE or multiple SHIFT) but I hope that will be handy.

Having a move function is a big part of my workflow
and a dedicated [MOVE] function would make a big difference.

not sure if this was requested already, but:

in Audio track SLICE option, so you could use the step buttons to choose a place in the audio track where you wanna slice/split a sample into two samples.
