Greetings

Here`s my first post:
I have one question for yall.

I am curently building a new studio.
I have the following gear:

MPC 1000
Numark Ns7 (with own dedicated laptop. Waiting for bridge for itch)
Akai s950
E.Mu planet phatt
Akai mpk 25
Akai MPD 42
Akai APC40
zoom R16
Turntable
Computer with Ableton DAW.

Would be cool to know how you would hock all this up in your studio enviroment to get the best work flow.
Maybe I would get some tips for when moving the gear to the new studio.

Thx..

I think there is indeed a "best" workflow, although it varies from beatmaker to beatmaker.

Just restructure possition of gear will give you a different workflow.

Let me try to explain how I currently run things.

I sample all vinyl and mp3 through my NS7, the turntable are hockep up into the ns7`s aux.
The NS7 main audio is hocked to the zoom r16.
One audio out to the Akai s950,
and one to the mpc.

The mpc and s950 are also hocked up to the zoom.

The s950 are hocked up to my mpk25 through the planet phatt with midi.

Just figured it would be nice to know if anyone would hock it up differently.

Since you got the MPC and the 950 hooked up to the R16, I don't think the excess controllers are necesary, unless you play keyboard. But the R16 is an interface/controller itself so you can use that with the MPC to trigger sounds from your DAW and record it into the R16 and vice-versa. You can pretty much hook up the Planet Phatt to the R16 as well. With the R16 you can have all your gear and DAW all in one place.

True, because to hock means to pawn.

But didn't you know that a receipt from Guitar Center makes a certified recording engineer.
