Problem loading wavs from Loopmasters into my MPC RAM

Hi all,

I recently downloaded the 'Dubstep Drumkit' sample pack from Loopmasters. The files are 24 bit so I went into Ableton and exported each of them at 16 bit, and then saved them all onto my MPC CF memory.

Now when I go into the MPC and try to load them into the RAM, it'll load some of them but others it just says 'wrong file!!'.

I took one of the ones that wouldn't load (kick 050) and exported it again to make sure, but it still won't load.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

It could be the sample rate. Often 24 Bit files also have a higher sample rate (e.g. 96kHz). Check if the files are 44.1kHz and not more.

i too have recently bought some packs from loopmasters and i am having the same problem. i cannot figure out a solution. when i try to play the samples in the load menu i hear nothing, and then if i try to load them, i receive a message that says "WRONG FILE!". and its only with the two packs i bought from loopmasters. how do i resolve this?

It's definitely what Martin said. If you don't have even a freeware WAV convertor, use iTunes. The conversion isn't the greatest, but it'll get the job done. Right click the top of the iTunes category listings and check off "bit rate" then you'll know which files are not 44.1khz. (You can do the same thing in Windows Explorer)

Regarding sample rates, this shouldn't be a problem, the MPC can deal with any sample rate fine. I just loaded up a 96kHz and 22.5kHz sample into my 1000 and there's no problem.

The 1000 requires 16 bit files, they need to be PCM wavs, but I find it hard to believe that Ableton would export in any other type of WAV other than PCM as that's industry standard. I just looked in Ableton, and it doesn't say what type of WAV it's exporting, so you have to assume it's PCM.

There has got to be another issue here. It could be original samples, or something wrong with the export from Ableton.

However, commonly it's an issue with the CF card. It may be corrupted or need re-formatting. Have you got a different CF card you can try?

BTW, how long are the file names - if they are longer than 16 characters this can cause issues in a 1000 when several files all start with the same 16 characters. Is the file name exactly kick 005?

i had the same problem ... most samples from LM are 24 bit ... i converted the samples to 16 bit and they worked

LOOP MASTERS!!?? i swear... these names nowadays... they must be related to the BEAT KANGZ.
