Upright, the picture you posted is definitely the one Saintjoe bought.

The one I have is called Rolodex Punched Metal Laptop Stand. I'd paste the link but it's ridiculously long. Office Max has it and it's $46.99, just search the product name on the site.

I can vouch for it supporting an MPC 1000 no problem. It 's more expensive than the other one, but has a nice solid wood base. Maschine sits on it perfectly in the default height, and there are 3 other height settings. Between Maschine's rubber feet and the 2 rubber pieces on the stands (at the front lip of Maschine) it sits very securely and snugly. I actually bought 2, and even though the edges hang of the side, an MPD32 can even rest nicely on one of these.

yeup... thats the only thing that made it appealing to me. I tend to travel a lot and it would be dope to be able to make beats while away with something like that. They say the only limitations compared to Maschine is one less screen and the size. otherwise full featured and comes with full library.

i just bought maschine mikro, and doing research for over a week, and playing with since sunday, the only thing i have noticed that i didnt like was that you cant zoom in by the controller, or when ur in slice mode, u cant adjust start and end , that can only be done in "edit" mode.

Yeah it does seem to be missing a lot.

Lack of MIDI doesn't bum anyone else out? I've been wanting to try Mashine out with my MPC1k (which I mainly use as a sequencer) but I still use plenty of MIDI devices and don't want to give up another USB port.

i dont think midi is totally absent but its definitely neglected and an area where an mpc (maybe even an older one) is still superior.

Not a fan at all... I can barely come to grips with the maschine being more than a midi controller in disguise, I think all controllers are too expensive just like the MPD series, they need to be a good £50-£80 cheaper lol. If they sold the regular maschine at £200 I'd definitely consider it, but I guess these companies don't wanna throw us broke ass musicians some rope.
