i dont know, but try and stick to making one single thread..

the thing you need to do is consider what features you require and knowing what models do what. both of those machines are simple and are easy to use...

the 1000 is newer and more powerful.. it has a nice 3rd party OS you can buy called the JJOS which adds many many features not available with the stock akai OS..

the 2000xl is an older machine but is solid. it has less featured than the 1000, however every it does... it does well besides time stretching which takes a long time to process due to the older cpu. I prefer the xl over the 1000, but that is just me and I am probably the only person on these forums who feels that way.

I'd go with the 2000xl. From what you're saying I reckon you'd be more into getting on with sampling and chopping than learning how to use all the features available.
Just bear in mind that getting files to and from the unit will be a bit more cumberson than attaching a USB cable and dragging and dropping files over.
But more features aren't everything. I went from a 2500 with JJOS to a 3000 and have not looked back.
