Well do we know the price point as it stands?

I think this is the problem... they've posted a crappy short video and slapped it on a crappy little micro site with no other useful information!

I'm with you though, it seems pretty obvious it's just a built in audio and midi interface.

if you look at the screen shot of the software too, it has "Debug" on the main menu. Looks like an early screen shot to me. Marketing prob wanted to get thier shizz out before the product is even ready. its happened to me before on projects i've worked on. screen shots of half designed shit.....retarded sales folks promising things that aren't even in the project plan. oh well, part of how it goes down I guess.

just will have to wait and see

I paused the video last night and zoomed in and noticed a dedicated 'debug' button on the controller. Next to the F6 button? I can't be 100% sure because I was a wee bit drunk!

Legacy, Renaissance, Maschine...

It doesn't matter what you use - if you're dope, you're dope!

I'm average on my 2000XL and my Maschine.

Seriously, lock me away in Pete Rock's basement with his OG SP1200 and all his records and I bet I don't come up with another "T.R.O.Y"!

Hardware mpc it seems is end it seems from my contact. The hardware sampler has been surpassed by software sampler. It has been a given that software samplers were more powerful and flexible than hardware samplers. Just the mpc hardware controllers ease of use with the mpc sequencer parameters were the niche I felt over logic and other sequencer daws.

Upright in the NI Forum claims there will be another hardware MPC.

Nope he hopes so but according to my guy the Ren is the future of mpcs. And the mpc 5000 was the last of the hardware as we know the mpc series. According there just isn't a market for hardware samplers when maschine, spark, and others are taking old as well as new adopters away. Most of us are the last of a dying breed. Sales of soft samplers are growing but the hardware samplers are fewer and fewer now.

We are in a midst of change at this point of time just like in the 1980's from drum synths going to drum samplers. Our gears are legacy units.

And I know its true..I just don't want to believe it. Or at least a hybrid MPC that can be standalone and work in a computer environment.

I cannot find a used MPC 2500 for under $1200. And the white LE are over $2000 when I see them. Even the 4000 is as much as $1700+. Japanese prices of course...

True all of us have been carrying and working with our units with pride. Just times have moved on regardless. Still we can work with both.

No need to troll man. This isn't a Maschine vs MPC thread. This is MPC Ren vs MPC Legacy thread. Post in the right thread please!
