Dear Sir -

I have given up. I can't sit around waiting and wondering if you're ever going to come back. Consider me a broken shell of the man I once was. You won. You toyed with my emotions and left me, bitter, abandoned and alone. I will no longer linger on your facebook page, refreshing constantly in hope of an MPC update. And my days of furiously pleasuring myself like a rabid squirrel while hopped up on qualudes and sizzurp outside your favorite Starbucks are over. I will no longer attempt to enter your studio for glimpses of you with your MPC. I most definitely will no longer be reading any more of your mail.

BTW - I notice in this video that you still have the original pads on your MPC. Are these still serving you well Sir?

Awaiting, more patiently than every, your biggest fan,

Meso

J_Mayer wrote:And by the way, has anyone here ever thought of building a dedicated rack just for the output of the MPC? I'm thinking about getting a 4U rack space and finding two great preamps/compressors so that the drums always have a signature sound... It would be cool to have the MPC perched up on top of one or two mastering-quality units...
Overkill, maybe...

Yeup. I considered doing this with a few black lion audio b12 pre's... but i havent done it yet though. that would be sick. Welcome to the boards. I'm all about the 5000 good choice contrary to popular belief.

Also, I think the sound in terms of clean and punch is better than 1000. but I'm sure many will disagree. but i think its a preference thing. the 1000 has a different sound than the 5000.

 you still waiting for him to come back??.

I got a rack unit with 5 pairs of different transformers. Shit is dope. I overload them and use a signal attenuator at the output before hitting my converters. Sweetnessnto my ears. I can use a different pair when i'm looking for a different sound, some are pretty clean, there's others that are straight up grimey. 8)

Wurdd. Yea the xformer rack is dope. Just get a couple input xformers from old mixers/consoles and put them together and you'll see the difference they make to the sound. The pair of Shure xformers does a lovely thing to the snare. I dig it

John

Let me just be the first to say, Mr. Mayer, "Welcome to the forum". As far as the pads on your 1000, I'd suggest that you get the new fat pads from mpcstuff.com

Regards,

Meso

John - Realize you're probably busy and all but wondering if you got those pads put on your MPC yet. Waiting to hear. Thanks.

Meso
