Has anybody tried to using one 32 mb chip for their MPC 2000? instead of using two 16mbs.

In the MPC2000 manual, it doesn't say anything about 32mb chip.. in the XL manual, it does. I dunno why it wouldn't work in the 2000, but I put a 32mb chip in the XL and it works fine.

MPC2000 can use 4, 8, 16 MB chips only.

MPC2000XL can use one or two 16Mb or one 32MB only.

I installed 32 mb chip when I first began to update the memory. The MPC did not read the 32 mb chip; I tried them on both MPC memory slots but had to return it and get two 16 mb chips instead. You could get the memory mad cheap now compared to what I paid a few years ago for it. If the 32 mb chip would have worked I would have saved about $45.
