You can pick inverted at installation...it's set with a jumper marked INVERT.

We really tried to make a competitive products, even though there are no alternatives. Although I like to make money, I'm not greedy and won't leech of the backs of proud musicians that struggle every day to bring their brand of talent to the people. Some people have derided us for the cost, claiming it doesn't cost more than $15 to make a screen. Sadly, this is not the case and never will be for the 2000 and 2000XL. I still haven't paid myself (and don't plan to). I'm not getting rich off them, that's for sure.

Anyway, I'm excited that we've sold quite a big number of them so far in preorders. We're happy to help. Mpcstuff are a fine company that has been very honest in their dealings with us. And we deal with a lot of people. Many thanks to their patience and support for helping us through the past year of challenges and successes. Not once did their faith in our dream waver....I am very grateful for Mike and his crew.

nukai is a conjoined word that was invented here on the forum describing the new akai since it was taken over by numark.

the idea of them being "pissed" has to do with them potentially not being happy since these new screens may potentially have older 2000 series machine owners stick with their units longer rather than purchasing a newer model made by them. That or maybe people who might be considering an mpc can consider getting an older 2000 series machine instead of a new model now that the only issue has been resolved by you guys.

it's basically a joke (lol) since we both know this wont even make a dent in their sales figures.

thats true when i was at namm and i said to the reps about a feture on the ren is compatible wit 2kxl ... he kinda paused and said were tryin to get pple to stop using the older machines .....

I received my screen today. The unit is of very high quality. The install vids were also excellent. My only suggestion is to show folks how to invert the screen prior to the end of the vid. That way people can do it before they button it up. I figured it out since jumpers are a simple concept, but others may not know.

The only issue I have is the brief screen lag when working as quick as I'm accustomed to. But that is not a deal-breaker.

It feels great to have my MPC back to normal. It is actually better than before, now that I have a cool inverted screen. Pics are below.

Yup, there is a bit of lag - we just couldn't go faster without the Akai taking a **** or making the display cost $400.

I arrived home from work friday to find a fat package waiting on my table. My screen was here! Finally had the time to install it last night. Words don't describe the joy when I powered it up! I tried Inverted screen and it looks great but I still prefer the standard setting. Install was a breeze. One thing I noticed was that, on the OG 2K, the hole spacing on the new board was slightly wider than the threaded holes in the 2K chassis. This might not be an issue with all MPC's but it was the case with mine.

The 2 sections of the chassis that you screw the screen to are attached to the main 2K case are held on by a several phillips head screws, 5 of which came into play in my install. The section on the left side of the screen also has one screw on the top panel. With the case at the point of taking the old screen out the ones I'm describing should be pretty obvious.

I loosened the 5 screws to allow for a bit of extra play in them and that allowed enough play in them to get the holes to line up. Once I had the screen screwed down I tightened all 5 of the panel screws back up. Other than that ZERO issues. No problems lap folding the longer ribbon cable under the screen. Once the screen was on I tidied it up under the screen. Set the screen inversion jumper and power up...

BAM! MPC 100% back in action! Contrast adjustment range is huge. Screen is bright and bold. I'm stoked! I see the latency on screen flip on only some of the pages and to me, it is totally acceptable as a compromise. I'm glad that I pre-ordered and couldn't be happier with it. Great product, totally reasonable price. A big thanks to the Envision crew for making dreams into reality. Way to seize this opportunity.

The screw dimensions are intentional. There is a tiny difference between the XL and 2000, so I chose a "middle" point. Either way, it works. Good eye!
