Sorry man...you are wrong. MPC 5000 OS 2.0 had numerous forum feature requests. The same is true for the Ren. Akai didn't plan on adding waveform editing on the hardware's LCD screen as you get full screen waveform editing on your computer monitor. But based on feedback, it is now included in the Ren. Then some forums members wanted a copy pad feature. Dan was here getting feedback regarding how it should be implemented. The same goes for the implementation of note repeat and improving the design of the buttons and making the pads more sensitive.

You may have missed those threads.

As far a credit...several forum members were beta testers for the MPC 5000 OS 2.0. Their names are listed in the MPC 5000 Team page.

I must be about two guys and an alien on the planet who really likes the look of the Ren Far better looking thing than what the op was using. Was that a 500? Just looked lke a communist block of plastic.

In a few years the Ren will look like an ultimate classic machine to have. Mark my words.

The studio is ok, but no tilt screen

Yeah, that's the one I was talking about. I though the one with the tiltable screen came second. But yeah, that cash register shit is wack looking!

You can't have everything in every product, so then where's the diversity, and the differences for when some people might not need certain stuff. Geez, cmon, really man.

If every labcoat had no pockets, wouldn't you want one with a pocket(s) sooner or later?
People that don't need pockets or are broke can have the no pocket cheaper version. Are you that jaded?

1. I guess you missed the point how I made that huge ass poll thread about lack of waveform view being on the controller screen? And now as Jah has pointed out, waveform editing has been added to the controller screen. Not saying it was just because of my thread alone, but I'm sure it wasn't only brought up on this forum.

2. This forum actually makes up a small percentage of MPC customers. Shit, only 50 people voted in favor of the waveform view in my thread. Another 13 people voted against it. That's a whole whopping 63 people that cared. My point is, there is a much larger customer base than just this forum, as well as several other forums with Akai customers requesting shit. So, input is coming from everywhere, not just here.

As far as them paying us for our idea, now that's just **** stupid! I mean, I'd much rather give them my money for something I requested than for something I had no say in and get it and be completely dissatisfied with it.

Think about it, when you take your car to a body shop for a custom paint job or your arm to a tattoo shop for a tat, do you charge the painter or tatoo artist for bringing your ideas to life?

Monsta, in order to get paid for your ideas, your ideas must be new inventions. You can't just say you want some shit on this machine that's already available in some other equipment already, and then demand to be paid for them listening to you. If you wanna get paid, come up with something COMPLETELY NEW, patent your idea, then sell it to them! Otherwise you're just talking some dumb shit that you know ain't never gonna happen! 8)

Maybe! But I really don't care enough. I just want the feature. Even still, I have no proof. There's still gearslutz, future producers, and probably a shit load of other forums and blogs where people are requesting the same shit everyday. I really wouldn't have the energy to begin searching to make sure I was the first or only one to make the request! For all we know, Pete Rock could have really been the one that swayed them into actually including it!
