MPC 60 Filter?

i know this might be a stupid question, but why can't we put a filter in the 60? it must be impossible because someone HAD to have tried it by now. isn't it just a chip or a board? it couldn't be incorporated? i'm getting by without but i used to be a low-pass wh0re on my 2K hehehe just curious i know some of you very tech oriented dudes can tell me

you absolutely can with no modification or surgery needed... you have that "echo send/return" which isn't only for echo... it works for any external effect (kaoss pads, EQ's, reverbs, etc...)

all you do is, send the one mono send out to the effect... and send the signal back in to the return... if it is an effect like a reverb or an echo that does a stereo effect.. send both left and right back into the mpc.

then, in the sounds menu, go to the echo mixer and turn up the pad (with reverb you may not want it turned up 100%.. for filters I suggest 100% or anything where you want to control the wet/dry from the effect unit itself)

now you got effects! I wish the 2000 had that feature.

Yes, what he said. I did it with a MF-101 before I sold it (now I just do everything from my mixer serial-sub-busses).

But, I think at full 100% in the echo-mixer, it is still parallel and you can still hear the dry signal (coorect me if Im wrong); which may be unsuitable depending on your desires. I like filters and compressors to be full serial and controlled/mixed by the filter unit itself; so I don't use the mpc-echo-sends. I wish it turned full serial with the echo-mixer on full bast 100% though...there's some really great mono filters i'd love to use it for.

The Echo is a waste IMO just too limited.
Felt that way when they first came out and still feel that way today.
Maybe if it would have been 4 bus?

I would rather get a digital mixer and use the individual outs.
When Yamaha came out with the 01v I was doing cart wheels and quickly grabbed 2 to use.

As far as modifying the 60, nothing easy about that on no level.

Yo that MF-101 is so sick! its analog too which is dope. from what a couple of you guys are saying i think i'd just use the filter coming off the turntable and sample it in that way that seems pretty easy just insert that **** and since it all works live like that you can experiment as the records spinning!
