hi all im really trying to find out a couple of things ive spoke to dan a couple of times but recently i asume hes very busy as ren is nearing anyway heres my questions(ive already pre-ordered)...

1-is there an eq for each sample layer ?
-i saw a snippet of a demo on the studio (st joe's in january ) so wanted to check..?

2-whole midi file type import :say a basic arrangement im working on (midi files only)in cubase and i want to transfer to the ren is this implemented or is drag and drop midi possible?

3-custom saving of presets:say for the rens own effect settings /encoder settings/vst settings and ndc effects in sample editing etc, i didnt see any preset saving menus from any of the vids?

4-render pad:like bouncing but a way to instantly render those 4 layers(if used)like the Poise vst plugin to one pad again -a piece of software called poise does this and makes multi layering upon layering very fast and easy one click rendering multiple samples down to the 1 sample .

cheers

Real men don't troll every thread about a new product. I know some of you feel insecure and unsatisfied with your current set-up but damn.....

Based upon what Akai has shown thus far.....

1. No. EQs are inserted into the available effect slots which are applied to all layers. The same is true for amp and filter envelopes. The only option you have is to use the Simult pad features as a way to layers sounds which have their own EQ settings.

2. No drag-n-drop MIDI. But you can import MIDI

3. No. There has been no indication of being able to save presets.

4. No. You can resample a multi-layered pad into a single sample

The caveat is that Akai hasn't released the full specs or the manuals for V1.

Both of those are pretty crucial and can be easily done in the box with Battery 3 and an MPC 2000

In that case...if the MPC 2000 and Battery 3 can accomplish what you need....then the MPC Ren/Studio and Battery 3 can accomplish what you need as these new MPCs are a VST host. Re-reading my post, I need to clarify. If you can save presets with your plugins, you still we be able to save presets with said plugins. When you create/save a project on the MPC Ren which contains plugins...upon reloading the project, your plugins settings should me maintained.

Hopes this meets your crucial needs.
