Please Help!

I was playing back some tracks thru the Song(pad16) mode and during this the LED screen went blank and no audio would come out. I tried restarting my mpc several times and the screen still remains blank while the MPC is on.

Anyone have any idea on what has happened to my MPC1000? Im in the middle of recording a tape for a label and this would set me back alot.

thanks ahead of time

first suggestion, you may have accidentally changed the screen contrast - consult the manual for the OS you are using for how to change the contrast...either shift or stop + data wheel

The contrast control wouldn't affect the audio. Assuming none of the internal components has actually failed (in which case you would have to get them replaced), I'd say it's either a loose internal connector or an internal short circuit from some loose metal compnents touching each other. This is actually somewhat common and there's some specific info in the forum archive but I'm not sure what search terms you would use to get the specific posts at the moment.

Anyway if you are comfortable opening the thing you can just look for anything loose in there(screws, connectors etc) and tighten it up.

Your RAM might had gotten lose, thats just my guess though. The best thing you can do is open up your MPC 1000 and look for anything unusual. If possible take pictures that will allow the forum members to help you out to possibly fix your problem.
