i tried that, it still plays the same pads. what im trying to do is reassign the pad after copying the track. peeze.

I'm not sure that's possible. Transpose maybe? not very predictable tho...

Once you've done edit: copy track, you can also just go into step edit and manually change each note to whatever you want. Step edit is also great for fine tuning or altering note data like velocity, pitch, and placement etc.
if you go to options (soft key 4 in the step edit window) you can set the locate buttons to either go to "next step" (based on what quantize or note off setting you are using) or "next event" which just quickly skips to the next note in the sequence. Next event makes it pretty fast to alter note data individually.
