spdif again

Hi all

I read about spdif but something not clear for me.


I have mpc1000, motu 4pre, pro tools 9.

I want know if with spdif out of mpc1000, I can record 4 tracks out simultanely.

mpc1000 spdif out -> spdif motu in -> pro tools 9


and eventually to know what set in protools for work this setup.

Nope, not through s/pdif, sorry.

You really should be able to but the Akai hardware spec is consumer s/pdif only i.e. it only gives you the stereo mains. Auxiliary outputs are analog only.

Oh and one more thing, spdif mirrors the main out. What u route to main outs also goes to spdif. Now if you go analog, you can get 6 chnls. 4 indy outs and then hard pan main outs left and right, bam, 6 analog outs.
